Official Rules

NO DONATION IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THE DRAWING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THESE OFFICIAL RULES, WHICH ARE A CONTRACT, CAREFULLY BEFORE ENTERING THIS DRAWING. BY PARTICIPATING IN THE DRAWING, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE OFFICIAL RULES AND REPRESENT THAT YOU SATISFY ALL OF THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS BELOW. A DONATION AUTOMATICALLY COUNTS AS AN ENTRY.
EACH WINNER WILL BE REQUIRED TO RESPOND TO WINNER NOTIFICATION AND OTHER COMMUNICATIONS WITHIN THREE (3) BUSINESS DAYS OR OTHER TIME FRAME STATED IN THE WINNER NOTIFICATION OR OTHER COMMUNICATION FROM KVCR OR PRIZE MAY BE FORFEITED.
SUMMARY AND ENTRY PERIOD: EmpireNetworkPBS KVCR Mother's Day Makeover (“Drawing”) starts at 6:00 a.m. Pacific Time (“PT”) on May 2, 2018 and ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on May 10, 2018 (“Drawing Period”). By participating in the Drawing, each entrant unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by these Official Rules (the “Official Rules”), and the decisions of KVCR, including the interpretation of these Official Rules, which will be final and binding in all respects.

ELIGIBILITY AND LIMITATIONS. Participants and winner(s) must be U.S. residents at least 18-years old or as determined by KVCR. Only one (1) prize per household for the Drawing. Only one (1) prize per household within any thirty (120) day period. Employees of the San Bernardino Community College District, KVCR, the KVCR Educational Foundation, Inc., agencies/consultants on behalf of KVCR, and members of the immediate family of any such persons are not eligible to participate and win. The term “immediate family” includes spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as in-laws, or by current or past marriage(s), remarriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension, and any other persons residing at the same household whether or not related.

KVCR may substitute prizes of equivalent value, amend the rules or discontinue the Drawing at any time. Check regularly for updates.

DELIVERY OF PRIZE (S): The prize will be available to be picked in person at the KVCR offices during normal business hours.

WINNER SELECTION/NOTIFICATION: Winners will be selected, subject to verification, in a random drawing from all eligible entries received regardless of method of entry, to be held on or about May 10, 2018, or any other date chosen by KVCR. Within approximately twenty-four (24) hours after the winner selection, KVCR will attempt to notify potential winner(s) that he/she/they may have won a prize by e-mail or by phone. Each winner will be required to respond to winner notification and other communications within three (3) business days or other time frame stated in the winner notification or other communication from KVCR or prize may be forfeited. Winner name(s) may be posted on the Entry Site in KVCR’s sole discretion. If prizing is fulfilled by mail, prize will be mailed via regular USPS mail only to such winner’s address in one (1) of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia in KVCR’s sole discretion. KVCR is not responsible for lost or stolen items delivered by mail. If any prize, prize notification, or Drawing-related communication is rejected, faulty, or returned as undeliverable, if a potential winner does not respond according to the notification’s or KVCR’s instructions, or if a winner or potential winner fails to comply with these Official Rules, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected (time permitting) based on the original method of winner selection. KVCR is not obligated to pursue more than three (3) alternate winners for any prize for any reason, in which case a prize may be deemed unclaimed and KVCR will have no further obligation with respect to that prize.

RELEASES, TAXES AND MISCELLANEOUS

Publicity; Privacy. By participating, all participants and winner(s) grant KVCR exclusive permission to use their names, characters, photographs, voices, and likenesses in connection with promotion of this and other contests and waive any claims to royalty, right, or remuneration or such use.

Release. By participating in the Drawing, each participant and winner waives any and all claims of liability against the San Bernardino Community College District, its employees and agents, the Drawing’s sponsors and their respective employees and agents, for any personal injury or loss which may occur from the conduct of, or participation in, the Drawing, or from the use of any prize. In order to receive a prize, participants must sign an official waiver form provided by KVCR.

Taxes. Any valuation of the prize(s) stated above is based on available information provided to KVCR, and the value of any prize awarded to a winner may be reported for tax purposes as required by law. Each winner is solely responsible for reporting and paying any and all applicable taxes. Each winner must provide KVCR, if requested, with valid identification and a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number before any prize will be awarded. Prizes are not transferable, redeemable for cash or exchangeable for any other prize. Any person winning over $600 in prizes from KVCR will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS .

Decisions. By participating in the Drawing, participants agree to be bound by the decisions of KVCR personnel. KVCR reserves the right to disqualify any participant or winner and may refuse to award any prize to a person who is ineligible or has violated any rule, gained unfair advantage in participating in the Drawing, or obtained winner status using fraudulent means. KVCR will interpret these rules and resolve any disputes, conflicting claims or ambiguities concerning the rules or the Drawing and KVCR's decisions concerning such disputes shall be final. If the conduct or outcome of the Drawing is affected by human error, any mechanical, technical, electronic, communications, telephone, computer, hardware or software errors, malfunctions or failures of any kind, intentional interference or any event beyond the control of KVCR, KVCR reserves the right to terminate this Drawing, or make such other decisions regarding the outcome KVCR deems appropriate. All decisions will be made by KVCR and are final. KVCR may waive any of these rules in its sole discretion.

Miscellaneous. Each winner must submit proof of eligibility and sign KVCR’s release form to claim the prize. No purchase necessary to participate or win. Void where prohibited. Odds of winning depend upon the number of participants. KVCR may substitute prizes of equivalent value, amend the rules or discontinue the Drawing at any time as announced on the Station. KVCR disclaims any responsibility to notify participants of any aspect related to the conduct of the Drawing. Written copies of these rules are available during normal business hours at the business offices of KVCR and by mail upon written request with a stamped, self-addressed return envelope. All entries become the property of KVCR and will not be returned.

Compliance with Law. The conduct of the Drawing is governed by the applicable laws of the Unites States of America and the State of California, which take precedence over any rule to the contrary herein. KVCR shall follow the applicable laws for conducting contests, including notice to the state attorney general or consumer affairs office, posting of a prize bond, furnishing lists of winners, running specific on-air disclaimers, providing specific written information about the Drawing, etc. as required by local and state law.
